The village of Deshaies boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe and practically the only white sand beaches in Basse-Terre. It is located on the Caribbean coast, also known as the leeward coast , which is particularly sheltered from the wind, swell, and especially sargassum seaweed.

Grande Anse beach
It is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe and also the longest at almost 2 km. Located near the village of Deshaies, it is nestled between Gros Morne, the Mitan mangrove and Pointe le Breton.
Bordered along its entire length by a tropical forest, it offers the possibility of alternating between shade and sun.
Two large car parks are available and there are several dining options on site as well as canoe rentals to go out into the mangroves.

Our favorite beach, smaller than Grande Anse, is still magnificent. From the water, we have a superb view of Bornave with its royal palms. On the seaward side, it's easy to snorkel (mask and snorkel) on both sides of the beach; the underwater flora and fauna are abundant. Grab your masks...
If you are lucky you may also spot pelicans and perhaps even swim with them.

This small beach, nestled between two hills, is also very beautiful. More difficult to access due to limited parking, it offers a more intimate feel. Here you can also go snorkeling, and if you're there at the right time of year, you might even spot turtles; this beach is listed as a turtle nesting site in Guadeloupe.

The small, wild beach
This beach located below the villa is completely wild; you will encounter few people there as it is little known and not easily accessible if you are not a resident.
Made mainly of lava slabs and rocks, it is restful and calm, the seabed is magnificent and just waiting for you....

A great spot for snorkeling and diving where you might encounter turtles and even lobsters.
This beach is lined with nice restaurants, and there are two access points: one on Reflet and the other on La Perle. On Reflet, you can also visit the cassava processing plant and buy cassava bread. This beach is pleasant for eating by the water or sipping a Ti-punch. When swimming, be careful when the sea is rough, as the waves are large and powerful.
