SYNOPSIS & INFO
Richard Poole is a British detective plunged into a nightmare: having never left London, he's sent to the Caribbean to investigate the murder of an English police officer. While the island of Saint Marie may be a paradisiacal microcosm, Richard feels like a fish out of water: he hates the heat, the sun, and seafood! Here, there are no experts, no high-tech labs, no fast cars. Richard can only rely on his intuition and the help of his local colleagues to solve mysteries where truth is disguised as falsehood, and where every witness is a potential suspect. How can he survive in such a hostile environment? Fortunately, the locals will eventually embrace this Hercule Poirot in a tweed suit who wants to impose his rather unconventional investigative methods on them. When Richard is assigned to head the small squad, he can say goodbye to his pub on the banks of the Thames. And to make matters worse, he's saddled with a partner he could have done without: Camille Bordey, a beautiful, cheeky mixed-race woman who's also… French! She's fire, he's water. She prefers to follow her intuition, while he believes only in the virtues of logic. Above all, she's so full of life that she unsettles Richard, who doesn't know how to handle women. But because they share a common sense of justice, and because humor allows them to accept their differences, they will solve together the incredible murders that are shattering the island's peace: a woman is killed by a harpoon on her wedding day, a voodoo priestess is found dead after predicting her own assassination, the remains of a man shot dead are discovered in a shark's stomach. On Sainte-Marie, nothing is like anywhere else.
Seasons 10 and 11
Marked by the returns of Joséphine Jobert and Sara Martins, season 10 of Death in Paradise concludes tonight on France 2 with a final investigation, entitled "Amnesia", which will see Tobi Bakare, the actor who plays Sergeant JP Hooper, bid farewell to the successful police series.
But fans of the adventures of Neville Parker (Ralf Little) and Florence Cassel can rest assured: Death in Paradise still has a bright future ahead. The British-French series, produced jointly by the United Kingdom and France, was renewed for two more seasons last January by BBC One.

Death in Paradise: An Oscar-winning actress appears in season 13
Season 13 of Death in Paradise will, as every year, welcome new guest stars featured throughout the various investigations in the episodes. Among them is an Oscar-winning actress! Indeed, British actress Hayley Mills, 77, is joining the cast of the crime drama. The son of actor John Mills, she initially studied dance before making her film debut in 1959 for J. Lee Thompson in The Witness. At just 13 years old, she became a child actress and appeared in films such as Pollyanna, the title role for which she won an Oscar for Best Juvenile Performance in 1961, The Parent Trap, and The Children of Captain Grant. As a side note, the actress had her Oscar statuette stolen in the 1980s, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded her a replacement in 2022!

Did you know? Behind the scenes at Honoré in Deshaies
The Inspector's House : The Inspector's famous wooden cabin, located on the beach, is not a permanent dwelling! It is assembled each year by the production team on the beach of La Perle (north of Deshaies) for the duration of filming, then dismantled to preserve the natural site.
Honoré's Police Station : In reality, the police station where the investigations are solved is the rectory of the church in Deshaies. You can admire it just a few minutes from Nature Caraïbe Lodge .
Host's tip : If you stay with us between April and August, you'll have a great chance of bumping into the film crew and the series' typical blue Land Rover Defenders in the village streets!
